Barking Mad Dog Care’s award-winning franchisee husband and wife partnership, John and Elaine Warburton from Fife, are delighted to have been featured by What Franchise Magazine. In ‘Barking Mad Couple say Franchising Changed their Lives’, a four page full colour feature, John and Elaine share their inspirational and emotive franchising story and offer their considerable wisdom on choosing the right franchise and how to run a business together and stay married!

John and Elaine BFA winners 2The husband and wife team began their Barking Mad journey in 2014 and haven’t looked back since. Winning the Lifestyle category at this year’s British Franchise Association HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards, for showing exceptional business acumen whilst enjoying an enviable life-work balance, was a fantastic recognition of their hard work and determination.

Self-confessed, ex ‘wage slave commuter’ John and Elaine, a former police officer said:

“We heard our local franchise was for sale and jumped at the opportunity to change our lives. Flexible working hours were a must, to allow us to care for our daughter and furry family! It’s not a job, it’s a way of life. We are living a dream. We love dogs and we love the lifestyle the business gives us. What more could you want?”

In the article, Elaine explains how her lifestyle has helped her to beat depression and how the happy and active life she leads with Barking Mad helps to boost her mood. She said:

“We believe that Barking Mad has changed our lives. It certainly has mine, having such a positive impact on my mental health.”

Established in 2000, Barking Mad is the UK and Ireland’s most trusted dog sitting service, providing bespoke dog holidays through a franchise network of dedicated local professionals. Franchisees recruit a community of carefully chosen, dog-loving host families who care for pets while their owners are away.
