Barking Mad’s concept is that it provides peace of mind for dog owners while they are away by providing a professional, tailor made, and fully insured, dog sitting service which is an alternative to kennels.

Barking Mad’s national network of over 70 franchisees market to individual customers and then recruit carefully selected “host” families who look after customer’s dogs in their own houses when they are away. The stay with the host family is referred to as a “dog holiday”. Barking Mad’s philosophy is “happy dog, happy holiday, happy you”!

 

The company has an estimated 20,000 active customers who hold the company in very high regard according to reviews and rankings on Trustpilot where Barking Mad is 5-star rated, based on over 2,000 customer reviews.

The market for Barking Mad’s services is substantial. According to the Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association’s annual Pet Population Report 2016, 24% of UK households have a dog.
