Franchise Brands recommencement of trading activity for ChipsAway & Ovenclean

22nd May 2020

Franchise Brands plc is pleased to announce the recommencement of trading activity for both ChipsAway and Ovenclean following the easing of lockdown restrictions in England.

During the lockdown franchisees have been unable to look after the steady flow of consumer enquires that have been coming in; therefore they have welcomed the decision to get back to work to meet the pent up demand. New operations procedures, in accordance with HSE guidelines, mean that ChipsAway and Ovenclean franchisees can now carry out fully contact-less services that observe social distancing at all times.

A national TV campaign started on Monday 18th May with a range of spots including ITV’s flagship breakfast show, Good Morning Britain. The TV campaign is supported by a range of digital initiatives, including e-shots and online marketing activities. This will be followed in June by a nationwide outdoor campaign on key poster sites on motorway service stations.

Tim Harris, Managing Director, B2C Division, commented: “ChipsAway franchisees have been keen to get back to work as soon as it is safe to do so and I’m delighted that they’ve jumped at the opportunity. Our marketing team have put together a strong programme of activity to drive consumer enquires and we look forward to a robust return to business.”

Stephen Hemsley, Executive Chairman of Franchise Brands, commented: “The safety of our franchisees, customers, and the public continues to be of paramount importance and we are pleased our franchisee community has embraced the contact-less way of working we have introduced. We look forward to our franchisees building their businesses back up to pre-crisis levels as soon as possible.”
